ABOUT US

Herb Navigator is the Herbal Education arm of our 501c3 nonprofit organization, The Accessible Acupuncture Initiative, Inc  (FEIN 47-4805036), currently doing business as Accessible Acupuncture in the State of Florida.

Since 2017, we've been making acupuncture accessible to our neighbors by means of our low cost community acupuncture clinic in the Union Park section of Orlando, FL.

In our practice, we've observed an increased interest in Chinese herbal remedies — but also a lot of confusion and frustration over unfamiliar terms and limited guidance, leaving many overwhelmed, unsure where to begin, and disheartened as they seek to explore more natural options to maintain their health.

Herb Navigator has been cultivated to change that!

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to make the *amazing* world of Chinese herbal remedies more accessible, more effective, and safer — especially for those exploring over-the-counter remedies available online on Amazon and manufacturer websites.

By cultivating a growing Library of Resources including easy-to-follow Condition-Based Guides with accompanying videos on our YouTube Channel along with in-depth Herbal Remedy Profile documents conveying their most appropriate uses, Herb Navigator will provide the clarity and confidence needed to embrace the gifts Mother Nature has to offer and, in turn, help make the world a healthier place.

Making Chinese Herbal Remedies More Accessible

It’s more than just helping others find high quality herbal remedies for a working class price.  It's also about

  1. De-mystifying them

  2. Empowering people to partake in the process

  3. Providing resources to navigate the whats, hows and whys and most appropriate uses

Western vs Eastern Approach

For a particular Western Medicine condition, or label, Chinese Medicine recognizes that there are multiple variations and/or root causes of that condition with each requiring a different herbal treatment approach.

This means four people can walk into the clinic seeking herbs to relieve their cough and each walks out with a different remedy geared towards their specific variation of cough - similar to how you'd use a different screwdriver based on what size and type of screw you're working with.

Although there are some exceptions, it's generally not a one size fits all approach and requires answering a few more questions to determine the most appropriate formula.

We are optimistic that our Library of Condition-Based Guides, Videos and Herbal Remedy Profiles will make navigating all of this easier, more productive and more enjoyable!
